Cameron hat trick earns point

Dundee Reserves ended their season with a goal-fest at Stark’s Park as they came from behind three times to draw 4-4 with Raith Rovers.

Gavin Rae’s side went into the final game of the Reserve Cup East Section knowing that they would be unable to finish in the top two of the section which would have seen them qualify for the Semi Final of the tournament.

Raith found themselves 2-0 up within 38 minutes. It looked that they would head in at the break with a comfortable lead but a late goal in the half from The Dees meant they were only a goal to the good when the half time whistle sounded. Ben Sivewright’s good cross being turned home by Calvin Colquhoun.

It got even better for Rae’s side early in the second period when they struck to level only four minutes in. Lee Cameron with an excellent finish from 25 yards.

Rovers quickly got back in front only two minutes later but shortly after Dundee were again level. Cameron getting his second after a Connor Macleod through ball.

The teams battled it out in an end to end affair and it was the home side who again took the lead with only 19 minutes remaining. That wouldn’t be the final goal of the night though as Dundee again fought back.

With just over ten minutes left, Dundee leveled again when Cameron completed his hat trick. Bonnett-Johnson played in the young striker who rounded the keeper before hitting the net.

Dundee had one final chance to win it, Jamie Reid saw an effort turned off the line in the final minute.
