Happy to be back - MacKenzie
"Apart from them taking the lead, I though it went pretty good", said Gary MacKenzie of Dundee's comeback to lead them into the Quarter finals of the Active Nations Scottish Cup when he spoke to website reporter Jacqui Robertson. "I thought we played some decent stuff on a poor surface. We were patient, and moved the ball about well. We created a few chances."

Gary said he was "Obviously delighted that we're in the next round, but we can't keep giving teams a go at the start. It was a poor goal to lose, and it gives us an uphill battle, but credit to the boys because i think we didn't panic. We kept knocking the ball about. We were patient, and in the end I think it was a well deserved victory. I don't know if they (Ayr) had a shot in the second half."

Dees into next round
Dundee progressed to the Quarter Final of the Active Nation Scottish Cup after coming from behind to beat Ayr United at Dens this afternoon.

Ex Dee Tam McManus gave Ayr United the lead after Ryan Borris got free in the box and cut it back for him to slot it home. Dundee leveled the score before the break when Leigh Griffiths broke through and although Craig Samson saved the ball fell to Dundee new boy Ben Hutchinson who side footed it home.

After the break Dundee took the lead when Samson pushed a Harkins free kick onto Griffiths and the ball ran into the net. That goal was enough to see Dundee into the next round of the cup.

Ayr Preview
It's Active Nation Scottish Cup weekend this week and the draw has paired Dundee with a home tie against fellow 1st Division side Ayr United.

Dundee welcome back defender Gary MacKenzie after a mix of injury and suspension has seen him miss four games in a row. Manager Jocky Scott is glad to have him back in the running, he told the press during the week “Of course, it is great to have Gary MacKenzie back from suspension as we have missed him.”

There could be a new face in action with Jocky waiting on clearance from both on loan Old Firm players Ben Hutchinson and Andrew Shinnie by their respective clubs to take part in the cup tie for Dundee.

For Ayr, they have former Dee Tam McManus signed up and he looks set to make his debut at his old ground on Saturday.

Prices for the match are - £17 for adults and £8 for concession/students and under 16s.

For those who can't make it to Dens our live text commentary service will be available at www.dundeefc.co.uk/live on Saturday.
