Apologies if someone has posted about this already........

On the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18711097
Scot Gardiner is quoted as saying "We have been notified by the SPL, SFL or the Scottish FA that our status as an SFL club has changed or is due to change" - While what he said was

"None of this means that we have been notified by the SPL, SFL or the SFA that our status as an SFL Club has changed or is due to change because we have not."

Perhaps someone from the club should contact the BBC and ask them to change it!

I have made a complaint to the BBC

The main body of the article has the correct quote, it's the sidebar extract that's wrong. Very naughty.

I know - I mentioned that in my complaint - It suggests a deliberate attempt to stir things up. Its the kind of thing you expect from the worst kind of tabloids, not the BBC.

This is an old journalism trick to draw people to read it - very naughty though as you say.

Looks like it has been partly changed now.

Looks like they reacted to my complaint!

It now reads

None of this means that we have been notified by the SPL, SFL or the SFA that our status as an SFL Club has changed or is due to change.

They have missed off the last bit, but the meaning is now clear.
