An amazing investment into the Club by the Colvins. Anyone know them fae Dees Doon Sooth? Lets hope that this can encourage similar/ further investment, be it personal or on behalf of a business. Hopefully this is being helped by the work of the new CEO and can help us launch a decent squad for next year.
Wee bit o optimism is guid (partic after sat!).

Whilst delighted that we've got a six-figure investment I am slightly concerned that the board announced this at the Q&A session earlier this year BEFORE we had actually received the money. At the time, it was presented as being a done deal yet it appears months passed before the money landed in our bank account.

What would have happened if the deal wasn't finalised in that time? In my opinion, no announcement should be made until the investment shows up on our bank statement.

admin, I asked some honest questions about this investment, can you explain why it was deemed necessary to delete them?

Amazing gesture by this family, i am sure their Father/father (is this correct ?)in law would have been very, very proud of what they have done here, £300k will make a huge difference and will ensure we are on a level playing field with the relegated team and their parachute payments.

I thought that the original donation of £180,000 was included in Barry Smith's buget for this season. Is this correct.

No offence meant, but is this an investment or a donation?.
The answer makes a huge difference.
If it is a donation, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If it is an investment, what is the expected return?

I see on twitter that 25 of the 50 bonds have been sold already. This is more great news, but can it be confirmed that these are seperate from the Colvin's very generous donation? Ie, did it consist of the purchase of 20 bonds?

Like others, I don't doubt the motive for this welcome investment. But any reason why we can't have absolute transparency re: bonds / shareholding etc?

In the letter sent to members of DFCSS on 3rd August 2011 it states that an injection of £180,000 has been received from the family of the late Mr Bill Gordon.
Included in the list of issued share capital shows:
William Colvin 13,416,039 shares (21.8%)
I can understand that the club were keen to launch the 50 Bond prior to today's historic anniversary. It is a pity that they did not publish the full benefits of purchasing one of these bonds.
If the Colvin family have purchased 20 bonds instead of shares that is a noble gesture as it allows DFCSS to still maintain their current controlling interest.

I dont doubt the motive either , if the Colvins have now invested 280,000 how does that compare to DFCSS is it more or less?

DFCSS initially put in £150,000 for the administration plus a further £70,000 towards the end of last season to help with the football club cashflow. Since the start of this season I think DFCSS have put in another two or three lots of £10,000 making a total of either £240,000 or £250,000.
The only people who can give this answer is one of the board of directors of DFCSS.

In the current financial climate no club can afford to turn down outside investment

Still no answer on whether some of the bonds sold form all or part of the Colvin's investment.

If 25 bonds were sold within a few hours, surely that £125k is worth celebrating if it comes on top of a £100k injection the week before.

I completely agree, although if that is the case - and we still don't know if it is or not - then I think it was wrong to mislead the fans by making it appear that we had brought in £125,000 on top of an investment we announced PRIOR to the Chief Executive tweeting about selling 25 bonds within a few hours.
