Can anyone inform me what has happened to Kev ? Entry on Wilkpedia states that he was on trial with Doncaster, but cannot find any confirmation of this. Surely his form has not declined so much since he was featuring on a semi regular spot with Burnley. I know he was released by them, but since then no news !!

I'd be very surprised if Kevin would drop back to Scottish 1st division level.

I would as well but he's been a free agent for a while and, perhaps, would be willing to play for us in order to get back into the shop window. Maybe a month-to-month contract that would allow him to go elsewhere if (when!) a better offer came in? Perhaps it's just a pipe-dream but you never know :)

United's manager Danny Wilson said yesterday he was still considering Kevin closely with regards to offering him a contract. (Sheffield United web site)

Watched Kevin play in last night's game v Bradford and thought he had a steady, but not outstanding performance. Bradford won on penalties. Kevin took one for United and scored with a sneaky shot to the keeper's right which squeezed in at the post.

Saw Kev on Sky as United beat Notts Co. 2-1 yesterday. He had a steady game until subbed with 15 mins to go and almost scored on 2 occasions. Seems to be a regular starter now as Danny Wilson's team go second in Division 1.

Seems to be main provider of assists as the Blades head for the Championship; if he sticks around, Kevin could even find humself knocking on the premier door.

Notice Kev got opening goal in 5 - 2 thrashing of Rochdale. Looks like a fight for 2nd automatic promotion spot between the 2 Sheffield teams.

Danny Wilson lists Kevin in tomorrow's Sky TV game v Stevenage.A win for the Blades coupled with a defeat for Wednesday earlier would seal a runners up spot & promotion.

Reports have it that he was head and shoulders the best player on the park for a ten man Blades today; with Wednesday's win it's the playoffs only, though wish him well - even if he does earn his corn for a "United"

0 - 0 , But IMHO Kev had a good game in Central Midfield. He also managed a couple of goal attempts. One saved and the other went narrowly past. 2nd. leg at home on Monday night.

Question now is 'Will Kevin be fit to play in the final on May 26th. at Wembley ?' He went off at half time last night, with a hamstring injury. United struggled through with a late winner, but IMHO they will have to make a considerable improvement to beat either Huddersfield or MK Dons (with Gary McKenzie). Kevin had a quiet first half as both teams were trying hard not to lose rather than setting out to win. The Blades badly need a striker with Cresswell unfit and their No 1 striker Ched Evans elsewhere.

Sheffield United have offered Kevin a new deal at Bramhall Lane. They have released 11 players, including Ched Evans and Simonson (the keeper who missed the vital penalty in the play off final)

Watching big Kev makes me want to bang my head off the wall.
He was one of the best goalscoring midfielders to leave Scotland in recent times along with James McCarthy of Hamilton, but now both of them spend most of their games giving little sideways passes in midfield or defending which is criminal.
Goalscoring midfielders are one of the most priceless groups in football and Kev should really be working for a manager who gives him the license to get in the penalty box if he wants to fulfill his potential.
