3 games in and I am getting very worried. I know its unbelievably early to say so but but having watched the Kilmarnock match(albeit on BBC ALBA) and today on Sky we have looked quite poor. Centre halves still getting to know each other but dont seem to talk- midfield work tremendously hard but lacking in flair and forwards still trying to find the net. My fear is we are going to be cast adrift before the players get to know each other and as we have seen in the past its very difficult to play catch up. We need more players/get players fit and hopefully when we score our first goal things will settle down- HERES HOPING

Depth needed now. Did nt get the breaks , but we need a finisher and a midfielder now or we're not going to survive.

well beaten really. Second half - even with red cards! - was a non-event most of the time.

We played well up to the first goal then were blown away. Cant think of a real goal scoring chance after Riley missed. Not good to see Riley fail to play another 90 minutes, our squad cant cope with that.

Scoreline didnt surprise me to be honest once united clicked. Worked hard but could still be playing and still not score.

I have to say United were the better team and would expect them to be right up there come the end of the season.

However thought the score line flattered slighted.

We look completely toothless up front, and I am very unimpressed by our habit of hit and hope 50 yard balls up to the smallest front two the in league.

We need a lot of work to survive this season.

The first 10 mins I thought we had turned up then Big Rab flogged the first goal, 2nd was a deflection and third was agreat stike but the Dundee players were to busy shouting for hand ball rather than chasing back.................the damage was done!!!

There are players in the side who are just no good, basic footballing necessities were not there, passes were slack, we tended to punt the ball long to the smallest guy on the pitch. Lockwood is not doing any kind of job and hasnt since the deefiant season yet still get a game, baffles me, we need a new left back now!! The left side with Conroy also is a position that needs changed, he runs all day but does nothing, he might aswell be running up and down the touch line for all he done. Irvine needs to close wingers down rather than back off and give the opponents room to cross, he is so hesitant at times. McCalister had no impact in this game what so ever, Grassi also looked very shady at the back has Smith even seen him play previously. Im not sure if it was the occassion or not but if you cant get up for Dundees biggest games of the season then I dont know!!!!

On a brighter note I thought Martin Boyle looked very promising and with more games under his belt I think he can become our main striker, looked good. I shows you something when 19yrs old Martin Boyle came on he was trying to gee up the rest of the team.

Im sorry for the post but I am one deflated dee right now, I was looking for a preformance, I wasnt expecting a win but I got neither..............POOR!!!

humping the ball up the field and hoping for the best doesnt work in the SPL especially when our strikers were half the size of the uniteds CB's and i think the manager needs to address this, we were giving up possesion far too cheaply and like 'DFC 4e4' said 'we need a new left back now!!' i 100% back that statement, i dont normally single out criticism on individuals but that was a bad performance from Lockwood, i was looking through the cracks of my fingers when he got close to the ball, Barry needs to fix that defence pronto

There is no denying we need to improve the quality of the squad. But we need a reality check here. Look at where we have come in the last 24 months - from the foot of the 1st Division to the SPL (given no time or cash to prepare).

It is not going to be easy, far from it. We will have to suffer a few more days like this.

We were beaten by the better team today, but as long as I see the players giving everything, that's enough for me (cant ask for more from them).

What we must do is continue to give the players and Barry the support they need and deserve - lets enjoy being back in the SPL.

BTW the fans were superb today - there are NO fans anywhere in the world that would back their team like we did at 3-0. As always, i'm proud to be a Dee.

Well then, let's just go out and buy them. Money is not an issue, of course.

I second it about the crowd today - didn't realise there were only a few minutes left as I usually know there are ten minutes to go by the fans making for the exits.
highlight of the day - the arab announcer asking people to sit down - the Dundee fans singing 'stand up if you hate arabs' - some people never learn!

Frustrating though the game went the way many maybe expected, with Utd having more up front. Certainly a couple of our signings/resignings are struggling at this level and maybe a few changes are needed. Gutted to see Riley injured again and a worry again that he will be out for another lengthy period. We do have more dig in the team but we have to score goals to get points and we have to realise at this level there are players who can score from distance if they are not closed down.

Have just watched the game again on Sky (I was there).

Can someone please explaint why O'Donnell and Russell were sent off??

Total joke - a booking for both at the very most.

mikestewart, what i was pointing out was big rab should not be missing crosses in to his box, this isnt the first time this has happened!we need a midfielder that can control the midfield and split defences, and a proven goal scorer at the top level,we have to many below average players,if not we will be going down..

At the time I though O'Donnells wasnt even a booking, but Russell definitley gave him a David Beckham type flick in the face with his boot whist on the ground. He had to go. O'Donnell whould never have been sent off though. I've not reveiewd on sky yet

Today was a horror show in defence but two things that are bugging me more than anything have nothing to do with the defence the 1st is Riley has to be scoring that opportunity the keeper made a half decent save but the ball was right at him it should have been in and then it is a different game and the second thing which annoys me the most why the hell did baird take that free kick when they scored there third, baird hit the ball into the wall and utd go and score if it was conroy who had taken it (still confused why he didnt he has been all of pre-season) then it would have been in or over which would of prevented there 3rd but overall just embarassing today, i dont care if ross county are unbeaten in over a year next week we must score and we must win otherwise releagation is all i see!!!
