Here's an update on the Exiled Dark Blues Sponsor A Goal initiative. So far we have had about £80 pledged collectively for every Dundee league goal to be scored this season. Thanks to those who have already contributed, excellent stuff.

Now by my reckoning, there must be hundreds of Dees who read this forum every day. If every one of us contributed say £2 per goal and we scored 50 goals this season, I reckon we could raise about £50k from just this one initiative.

Details about this initiative can also be found on the Dundee Mad website and I will be contacting every DFC Supporters Club over the next week to get them and their members involved.

Here's my challenge to everyone. If you read this forum, please make your pledge by e-mailing me at: scott_lockie@hotmail.com and let's get 500 Dees involved and raise some serious dosh. The money will be due after every 9 games and what an incentive for the team to know that every goal they score will mean money in the kitty for Barry to strengthen the team. So what are you waiting for? Don't sit back and let everyone else participate, drop me a line and get involved! Onwards and upwards!

Do some people maybe think its only for Exiles? Maybe an idea to put some on ebay for a tenner to cover the first 5 goals?

Good effort.

Definitely not just for Exiles, this initiative is open to all Dundee fans. C'mon everyone, let's get behind this and see how much we can raise for the club and give our strikers an added incentive to find the back of the net!

I've had several queries about payment options for this Fundraising initiative. The preferred payment option for the Sponsor a Goal initiative is by Paypal. Money will be due after every 9 games and I will notify you directly of the amount you are due.

We're almost up to 100 quid pledged per goal. I am still waiting to hear back from the various Supporters Clubs to hear if they and their members are getting involved.

There will also be a story about this initiative going into The Courier this week, so hopefully that will also increase interest and get even more people on board. To sign up and support the boys, simply e-mail me at: scott_lockie@hotmail.com and let me know how much you'd like to pledge per goal. Onwards and upwards.

Up to 117 quid per goal . Great effort up to now and still must be plenty people out there who would like to join in and push the total along towards the 200 pounds mark... Spread the word and contact Scott if you would like to pledge a pound or two :-)

Brilliant stuff so far fellow Dees. Despite no major trophy in 40 years and 2 administrations in the last decade, the fans have stuck by them. Many other SPL clubs look at our support with envy, not just because of the numbers that turn out but also the loyal and fanatical backing we give our team. The crowd at Killie was amazing and shows we are still one of the big clubs in Scotland which is incredible given the pain and suffering over the last few decades. Let's help Barry and the boys by breaking the 200 quid barrier. As Scott would say onwards and upwards!
