| Patience is a virtue so they say well I am not very virtuous. Time is moving on and its been over a week since we knew that we were to gain entry into the SPL. There was talk of a plan A and plan B and the need to sign some players- 6 were mentioned in some media outlets. I had thought that there would have been lists prepared for either scenario and that soon after we knew we would spring into action. I keep looking and hoping that an anouncement will be made but so far nothing. I know its the holidays but not for footballers who will be getting well into pre season training and it worries me that new players will be signed too late to help for the first few months and if we are not careful we will be left behind as we try to get up to speed in the SPL. Patience is a virue posses it if you can seldom in Euan but needed for a Dundee fan. |

Must admit to being a bit concerned as well, time is marching on and if there are players out there on our list we need them sooner rather than later, we are going to have a hard enough time in the Spl without signing after season starts. |

| Do you really think that the board and Barry aren't TRYING to get players on board? If they are SPL worthy, they will have other offers and will want a decent wage. Rome wasn't built in a day. One other thing, I don't want to hear a thing until someone is actually signed, otherwise, you just alert other clubs to the players availability. I trust Barry! just look forward to the Killie game and give the club every minute it needs. |

I'm not the most patient of people either however both the manager and CEO were both quoted as saying that they would not rush into making new signings as they need to be sure that they are capturing the right people for the club. I firmly believe we will sign players, the season may have already started by the time we have all the new faces on board, and it could be a tough first few weeks. It is important though that now we are presumably able to offer some higher wages that we get the new signings spot on and don't end up with guys on the payroll who are not up to the task of competing in the SPL. Just because we haven't heard much doesn't mean to say that negotiations are not taking place in the background, it seems to be the way DFC operate and I have no issue with that. |

Other clubs will allready know who is on the "Free Agents" list, which is the market we will operate in 99% of the time. |

Very impatient myself but Barry is doing the correct thing. He's been quoted as saying he wont sign players on reputation alone. He wants a close look at them before making a decision.3 trialists played yesterday i believe, including 2 decent ex SPL strikers.I'm optomistic Baz can pick through the dead wood and sign the guys we need. |

| well its seems from the trialists that Sir Baz is looking at, he's eyeing a new striker. Mark Stewart played well against Cove, put himself about well however, with Steven McLean on trial, gotta say he has loads of experience and could be a decent player to pick up after being released by Yeovil. |

Wow, sorry but have to totally disagree with gthedee with his assessment of Mark Stewart. I genuinely want all trialists to do well but Mark really struggled against Cove. Maybe you can let us know which part of Marks game impressed you. I know we are not allowed to criticise players so I'm trying to keep my comments respectful. Lets put it this way I bet Barry does not sign Mark Stewart.
Ps i have just heard Dundee have signed Steve mcLean? Any truth |

McLean played as trialist against the sheeps U20's yesterday alongside Stewart.Dont think Baz'll sign both.Stewart scored 2 goals.Nothing official saying he's signed. |

| The delay might have more to do with the TV money debacle. If the clubs hanging fire until that gets decided then good for them. Us more than most would not want to get ourselves into financial do-do's chasing the SPL dream. |

| Makes me laugh how McLean is linked as a former Rangers striker......he played 3 games. looks a good pedigree though if his previous goalscoring stats are anything to go by. |

Pretty sure both Kenny miller and kris Boyd were described as world class so McLean deserves to be described as ex oldco player

| McLean did pretty well for Sheffield Wednesday not so long ago. Could be a decent SPL standard striker. |

| I'm a bit worried about the defence. We seem to be shipping a lot of goals during pre season. |
