At present News Corporation currently owns 39.14% of British SKY Broadcasting Corporation (SKY) and I do see them cancelling the current SKY deal even if newco Rangers are demoted to SFL Division 3.
At present News Corporation are currently being investigated by the Levison inquiry and the last thing Rupert Murdoch needs is another problem with the current SKY football contract with the SPL.
£16 Million is chicken feed to Rupert Murdoch and SKY.
Tonight I read on another website that it is estimated that SKY receives £1 Billion per annum from SKY subscribers in Scotland.
If SKY cancel the current contract with the SPL, they will lose a lot more than £16 Million as many SKY customers in Scotland decide to cancel their SKY subscription.
As far as I am concerned SKY is not worth having unless you subscribe to the SKY Sports channels. The rest of the channels are mostly repeats.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with above statement.Whilst I enjoy the Sports Channels, my good lady wife can watch her favourite channels, including "Atlantic", which is not available on any other platform. I would not cancel my subscription under any circumstances.

Today I have noticed on another website that Rangers supporters in their droves are cancelling their SKY contracts. If supporters from other clubs do likewise then SKY will lose a lot of money.
It will only be a matter of time for clubs and pubs who currently pay up to £5,000 per annum for their SKY contract to also cancel.

The pubs and clubs certainly won't cancel their contracts just because Rangers might not be shown! Way too much other good sport and football is shown. Can't see 'other' supporters cancelling either just because of Rangers. Rangers fans might have to eat humble pie and ask to get reconnected should Regan etc get their way and put the Gers in the 1st division. Pie in the 'Sky' me thinks!

On the contrary. Thanks to a recent court case there is nothing to stop pubs and clubs in the UK paying to watch live English Premier League football from foreign sattelite providers.

Yea there was one test case won - great stuff - but in most cases the satellite commentary was foreign! Bit of a down side that!

I have not had Sky sports for a number of years (yes there's politics in there), although I do have ESPN and respect the quality of Sky Sports News.

That being said, I have always found ways to stream games I want to watch - plus there's the pub!

ESPN...according to the Sun,the ESPN is committed to showing Scottish Footaball - and could now pursue a deal with the SFL to show Gers' division 3 games.
"ESPN is proud to be a broadcast partner of the SPL & a supporter of Scottish Football. We have held consistently that the SPL, SFA, SFL & ther collective clubs make the decisions about Scottish football and we have looked to be supportive throughout the current difficult circumstances. We want to have a continued relationship with Scottish football. We look forward to having fruitful discussions on that basis."
"Other speculation is irrelevant, as we are only now engaging in the next steps in this process"

dmbuild66.
You can always watch the game with the sound turned off. You would then have to listen to so-called football pundits with their bad grammer giving their points of view.

In today's Courier (page 11) there is a full page advert for SKY headed "The Unbeatable SKY Sports Experience" The advert quotes All 6 SKY Sports Channels; Unmissable live action - Scottish Premier League, Scottish Cup, UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League, npower Championship and ESPN free for 3 months.
I would find it very surprising for SKY to cancel their current SPL TV deal after taking out a full page advert in the Dundee Courier and no doubt other national newspapers.

Although Sky are very unlikely to walk away; look our for a re-negotiation.
