Re club statement. Dunfermline get vote, no COI? Newco were able to vote to retain SPL membership , no COI? |

I would suggest that if Dunfermline get a vote, they're out of the running.
I wouldn't compare our situation with the Rangers vote - the SPL was doing everything it could to keep the in the league - fortunately (and surprisingly (to me)) good sense prevailed.
On another note, I do wish Newco well and hope they rise up through the divisions - with a prudent financial model. Wether we like it or not, Scottish football is stronger with Rangers in it. |

| While I agree that we take and follow the appropriate advice it does seem rich with all that is going on that people speak about conflict of interest. Can any team in the current first or third divisions in SFL claim not to have a conflict of interest? |

| re "Conflict of Interest" - Dunfermline were entitled to vote because there was no COI with regard to them. We could not vote because we were the named Club 12 in the SPL proposal. |

| I might be reading too much into things or simply reading the statement through my blue tinted glasses but I see the fact that we are the only 1st Division Club (keeping in mind thats what Dunfermline are not) who are not allowed to vote suggests that we are the only candidates to take Rangers place regardless of what happens to them or where they find themselves playing. In my opinion its happy days all round. |

Plus now Newco need only 15 votes to be accepted in to Div1 , Dundee could/ should have been possible deciding vote. |

| So if it was clear prior to the SFL meeting this week that we were not going to be part of any vote due to a conflict of interest, why has it taken until after the SPL vote today to state that position? |

Sorry hope they languish for many many years in the nether regions.

| Dunfermline are a First Division team - so if they have not conflict of interest then it seems they wont gain from this. |

I realise the implications but what if by some strange stroke of fortune we are denied a SPL place? I would put nothing past the Scottish football authorities where Dundee are concerned. Paranoid? Yes but only because we should be. |

I'll only believe that when it is officially announced by the SPL/SFL as a fact. |

Regarding COI, what would the position be of the other clubs through the 3 leagues who would gain/loss out on the re-shufflig of the leagues. If Dundee are Club 12 then who takes our place in Division 1 and with the knock-on effects down the Division 2 & 3. I don't know how the SFL are going to shuffle in the teams who either got to the play-off finals or finished 2nd in their Leagues. These affected teams will surely have a COI on who decides to take a step up. This is obviously on the assumption that the team Formerly Known As Rangers go into Division 3. |

| It does now seem likely that we'll be going up, but rangers were given a vote even though it looked very likely they were getting punted out. Following that logic I would have thought we would get a vote seeing as how its not just about which league rangers end up in, its about the £1M and the future infrastructure . As it stands we may (and thats may not will) go up but with a good first division team, if we do end up coming straight back down we would have wanted to have a say in any negotiations that involve the SFL 'package' thats going to be decided. Every club in the SFL has some conflict of interest and I find it bizarre that we appear very keen to get rid of our vote. I don't buy this line that its not our fault, we were told we can't, I'm sure if we really wanted to we would get a vote. |

| The impression I got from Sportsound was that its NOT a done deal. Could go either way. I'll believe the Dee are in the SPL when the season kicks off with us there. |

We didn't 'get rid of our vote' According to Scott Gardiner we were told we could not vote and I quote "This is not our choice, it is however a fact that we cannot vote."
So me thinks it doesn't matter what we 'really want' voting was never an option! which is maybe a good thing.

Why ? If all the SPL clubs can't survive in the long term without the money brought in by Rangers, then surely they will all have to go into ADMINISTRATION ! Points deduction all round ! Our squad looks able to then at least compete without stretching our finances. |

The SPL chief has stated that no decision has been made with regard to club 12 so why are Dunfermline being allowed to vote? Surely they have a conflict of interest also?
Anyway, I won't believe Dundee are in the SPL until it happens as the SPL have never done anything that favours Dundee FC. I still have concerns about them doing a U turn and re-instating Dunfermline. |

| As far as I'm concerned it looks very like we have been looking for an excuse. If this is not so the 'conflict of interest' could have been raised previously. Also, as has been pointed out by others surely every SFL club has a conflict of interest. If we get left with the nightmare scenario of no SPL place and Newco in Div1 with us after having no say in it I will never forgive the board. I just hope they know what they're doing. |
