| Whilst taking absolutely nothing for granted IF we are in the SPL next season with Club 12's fixtures, they make for 'interesting' reading. Lets assume we are in the bottom 6 after split then we would only have one home game v Utd., Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Killie and two away against these teams pre-split. If anyone thinks the SPL had problems last season in sorting out the post split fixtures then next season will likely be a nightmare. Apart from loss of revenue in having most of the teams with decent travelling support only once at home in the season ie Utd, Celtic, Hearts and poss. Aberdeen, we would be due 3 games post split at home 2 away and due to play:- probably St. Mirren, Ross. Co., ICT away and if in the unlikely event that Motherwell and St. Johnstone also ended up in the bottom 6 all 5 games away from home. This, of course, is because the SPL assumed that Rangers would be Club 12 !! It will be interesting to see if the SPL re-jig the fixtures in any way to cover this and also the 9 times where we will have a double fixture in the town with Utd. at home the same weekend. As I started with this post it is only conjecture and this is only harmless thoughts as to what would happen IF we get the SPL place. One solution, however, would be to aim for the top 6 just to save a lot of problems later in the season. LOL. |

I don't think "loss of revenue" would be the best term to use; I strongly suspect that anything we'd get for being in the SPL, even for one season, would dwarf at least two seasons in SFL1 (and that's a conservative estimate).
There's no way we'd be away 5 times post-split. They always ensure that each team is at home at least twice.
TV will probably help with some of the fixture clashes (e.g. games v Celtic probably on Sundays etc.), with simple alternation fixing the others. |

If Rangers take over Dundee's fixtures for next season there is no way that SKY will accept a fixture list commencing on 11th August home, away, home, home, away, away, home, home, away, away up to the 27th October. The fixture lists for the SPL and SFL Divsion 1 (if Rangers are in it) will have to be re-drawn. If Rangers are demoted to SFL Division 3 then the fixture lists for all the leagues will have to be re-drawn to take account of derby matches at the new year period. |

| The SPL fixture list won't be redrawn; that was the whole point of them using "club 12" (even though it was patently obvious who the hoped club 12 would be). |

| I suspect the fixtures are all ready for each variant of circumstances. Locked in a file somewhere/password protected! |

You are setting your sights and aspirations way too low! Barry will be disappointed with you. Lets go for minimum top 3 and a European spot! ((o: |
