| Well given the fact that 'club 12' are occasionally at home at the same time as United I think we can safely presume we won't be 'club 12' |

We will aren't in the SPL, we still follow the SFL fixure list just now. We need to wait until the teams vote if they want Rangers in the SPL. |

I we were accepted into the SPL we are due to play Utd on 18th August.
Could or should this affect derby "friendly".
Is it wise to play direct opposition in a friendly just weeks before the season starts?? |

I wouldn't read to much into it. SPL already conceded the scheduling was all done with newco in mind and couldn't change it in time - I actually think its significant they have gone for Club 12. Would put our chances at 50-50 now. |

| Which is preferable to being at Hamilton on Boxing day, as is McDiarmid park on Jan 2nd, as opposed to a glamour mome game against Dumbarton! So who fancies producing the "Club 12" Tee shirts? |

Don't think that's a concern at all! I'm sure we've been in the SPL before and played SPl opposition in pre-season friendlies before. |

I am very surprised that no one has commented that from the 25th August until 29th October we play 2 games at home then 2 games away, then a further two games at home followed by another two games away. If you do not believe me look at the fixture list issued by the SFL computer. Then from 24th November until 19th January 2013 the same thing happens again. In the past football clubs used to play at home one week and then away from home the following week. That does now appear to be the case. We are not alone as the same format of fixtures have also been allocated to Dunfermline. Perhaps an offical from the SFL can explain why this has happened. |

| We haven't had HAHAHA in the fixtures for years! The SFL can't manage to do fixtures that way. |

You can't have alternate home and away games for more than a few games. If you start the season at home then there are four other sides playing at home that day. If you kept to a strict sequence of alternating home and away games then you'd never be able to meet those four clubs!
I think the SPL and SFL get a hard time over this. They deserved it when they refused to co-ordinate their fixtures, and they still sometimes do unreasonable things. However, it's a monstrously complicated problem. You can go a website like this that will churn out a simple fixture list. http://www.fixturelist.com/createalist3.php
However, the real problem is dealing with all the surrounding issues like; - pairing sides so they're not at home at the same time, - pairing sides for derbies/Christmas etc, - handling local problems like the Links Market in Kirkcaldy, - allowing the previous season's 4 champions to start at home, etc, etc.
Every time you make a change to allow for one of these complications it has a ripple effect on other fixtures.
This article on the BBC a couple of years ago was a fascinating insight into the problem. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html |

Don't safely presume anything, its all to do with Sky TV wanting to show as many DFC games as possible on a Sunday, they are just wetting themselves waiting in the wings, desperate to get back to Dens Park again! ((o;

When the fixture list for season 2011-12 was published in June 2011 we were timetabled to have all our fixtures HAHAHA apart from the following; 10th September Raith (A) 17th September Falkirk (A) 29th October Partick (H) 5th November Raith (H) 7th April Falkirk (H) 10th April QOS (H) This season we have four lots of either Home, Home or Away, Away before the 29th October 2012. The same scenario has also taken place in the SPL fixture list although not quite as dramatic as Dundee's list of fixtures. At one time football fans used to go to Dens one Saturday and Tannadice the following Saturday. With this season's set of SPL and SFL fixture lists this would be impossible. |

That was my point James, it's unlikely every club can be given a HAHAH cycle of fixtures all through the season.
Your default assumption that I am not impressed with the SFL's fixturing is correct though! |

Dumbarton isnt the most inspiring opener. We were given Ayr at home last year too, when they came up.
