If the Charles Green consortium manages to take over Rangers they should do a reverse takeover of Darlington Town FC in the Conference League in England. This would allow Rangers to play in England and progress to the higher leagues. Darlington currently play at a new stadium.
islaydarkblue, I should read all the posts before posting. I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks this way. I like the Darlington approach but maybe "Pompey" would be better.
absentdee. I had already read your post prior to me submitting my post. There is no way that Charles Green would allowed to do a reverse take-over of an English league club in either the Premier League, Championship or Division 1 or 2 of the Football League. Darlington thanks to an injection of funds from their supporters in March 2012 were saved from going into liquidation. Next season they will be playing in the league below the Conference and I am sure they would welcome Charles Green and his money with open arms.
tayportdee. Islay has several football teams namely Port Ellen, Bowmore, Port Charlotte and Islay Boys Club. There is even an Islay resident who had a trial for Dundee FC and I have seen his letter from Bob Shankly inviting him to Dens Park for the trial.
