Seems like a lot of work has gone into these incentives / bonuses. I appreciate they won't suit everyone but think the club should be commended for looking to do something a bit different to attract season ticket sales.
I'll be getting mine ASAP. |

Theres no dressing this up with 'perks'. You buy a season ticket for the football and Yes as the OP states £300 for Div 1 is quite simply disgraceful!

A few questions:
1. What's the finance rate charged for the 10 month deal?
2, Did the Board do any Research into the price structure before announcing it?
3, The "50" Bond appears to be a retread of the BB/DMcK initiative of a few years back too. Kinda think this just cannibalises existing revenue streams anyway?

Just checked out Falkirk website to see what their prices are for the coming season. Main Stand Adult..£342, Early Bird...£250. South Stand.Adult.£324, Early Bird...£225. Maybe a better deal on the early bird than ours but worse on the normal price. They say..'An Early Bird Season ticket even makes sense for fans who can't attend all 18 matches, still saving you money if you attend around 2/3 of games'.
Even at these prices they are cutting their budget for next season and like us, some fans are complaining about the price increase. |

| Not surprised by the hike in the price, and an interesting approach to bring 'benefits' to the fans. As an out of towner most of the offers aren't of much use to me but they do say they will be trying to add new benefits as they can arrange them so who knows. To be honest I'm a fool to myself for buying 2 season tickets a year because I don't get my moneys worth but I can afford it and choose to and will continue to do so. Without trying to be condescending, its less than a quid a week rise but I do appreciate everyone's circumstances are different. I will be using the direct debit method of paying though, thats the big improvement for me, it keeps the missus a bit sweeter (natured anyway). |

I am sorry to say that I am having to make the decision not to renew. For myself, my 17 yr old and 9 yr old I have to spend circa £450. Living in Stirling, I couldn't agree more with other out of town fans. I miss circa 4 - 5 games per season due to work comitments and at these prices it is simply more cost effective to pay at the gate. Others suggesting we simply spend longer in Dundee to take advantage of these benefits are totally in cloud cuckoo land. I coach a kids team so can't get there earlier and like others, work away a lot. I suppose I could go once a month to the Hilton in Dundee and allow my kids watch me enjoy me free meal...... Regrettably, a big own goal after being convinced at the player of the year doo that a great innovative package was on its way. In summary, I will still attend matches but these are likely to be fewer and the club won't have my money up front. |

| As someone who attends almost every Dundee Stars game this works out well for me - a free ticket every month saves me around £75-£90. Having said that, this is just a bonus for me in the fact i happened to go to the hockey anyway. 14% for people with no interest in any of the incentives is hard to justify, even more so from those outwith Dundee. |

Pity you can't use it at the restaruants and Cineworld in other parts of the country. Any saving I'd make in going to Cineworld in Dundee on any other day than match day, would be more than wiped out by the cost of travelling up to Dundee. There's one less than 2 miles from my door. |

Your kids wouldn't have to watch you eat your free meal as the offer is for and I quote "Some of the added benefits for adult and concession season ticket holders next season" so they could eat too! I realise these offers won't suit everybody but they will suit a lot of people. Its an initiative that has been offered as an incentive to buy a season ticket. I too don't live in town, work funny hours sometimes but will I hope, get some benefits out of this deal. I take 2 kids with me to the match and can't see them refusing a trip to the flicks on the way home - cloud cuckoo land - I think not and they also enjoy ice-hockey. Its a win win for me but I understand its not for everyone but lets not knock it! and you never know they are going to add more benefits throughout the year. |

My son has just turned 16. The jump in prices is just too much for me. No season tickets this year.

| Its clear that a lot of work has gone on behind the scenes tying up this link between DFC and the various companies in Dundee that are part of the incentive. We must congatulate the backroom staff and Board for this hard work. It is more proof that DFC are in the community, not just working with local charities but also with local businesses. I do think that such avenues need to be explored and congratulate the Board for doing it. I am not sure that these incentives however will make more people buy season tickets as the price is quite high and the punters dont yet know what standard of player is going to be coming in and whether they will be good enough to put in a challenge for SPL next season. Its a chicken and egg scenario one funds the other but which one comes first. I am glad I dont have to makse these decisions! |

I am surprised there is not a Season ticket plus DFCTV package - more revenue to the club there. I will still buy one as its my 'memebership' of my club. |

Some questions for abspain, or any other board member:
1. If this is the early-bird rate, what will be full price?
2. When does the early-bird offer end?
3. What will the walk-up prices be?
4. How many season tickets have we budgeted for selling?
5. What contingencies are in place if this figure is not met?
6. Can you confirm that the very generous £100,000 investment by Mr Colvin and the bonds that our CEO claimed on Twitter to have sold are in fact the same thing?
7. If that is the case, do you not think that is misleading the fans by letting them think the club has attracted twice the level of investment?
8. Is the club paying for a member of the commercial staff to accompany the manager on a scouting mission to Iceland?
9. Is it not disingenuous to compare early-bird and full price deals as a basis of claiming only a tiny price increase has taken place?
10. How much did the four-page advert in the Evening Telegraph cost and do you feel this offers the best value-for-money when the club sees fit to charge its loyal fans £300 to watch an eighth year of first division football after the previous season saw us finish 24 points behind the champions?
Fair play to the board for thinking outside the box in terms of the package on offer to fans, but I'm afraid the new deal has been poorly executed and is light on detail.
There's simply no getting away from the fact that we were already the most expensive side inthis division to watch before this inflation |

I too am concerned that if this is the early bird price, then what on earth will the full price be?
David Brodie also raises an interesting point in regards to the credit costs. My golf club offers a similar "pay over 10 months" option, but the cost of the credit adds £40 to the annual amount. It's not inconceivable that the non-early bird season ticket with credit option could be well in excess of £350 annually, which for First Division football is ludicrous.
I can only get to around 9 or 10 home games a season what with golf, family and other commitments, there's no danger i'm paying £300+ for that.
The incentives are reasonable on the face of it, but I get more, and better deals with a Taycard, so they make little difference to me.
I think i'll just buy the away shirt and pay at the gate this season. It's worth noting that we're going to get an immense amount of stick if we stick our gate prices at over £20 as well.

| After 2 seasons of ticket prices being frozen, even in a double dip recession, being fan owned and with no white knight to call upon,we were allways going to be hit with a price increase, that's the harsh reality of 7yrs in the finance starved SFL.We have allready seen,in his short time at Dens,Scot Gardiner can certainly talk the talk but can he walk the walk. These new initiatives,to me,have shown the CEO does'nt just talk the talk,a lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to secure these new partners,to help make the season ticket package more attractive. The club could've sat back on their Ars3s and done nothing, put the prices up and said you know what, you voted for this model. That they did'nt shows they are trying to ease the burden and not just talking the talk.I appreciate we are the most expensive SFL club and dearer than some SPL clubs and that these initiatives wont appeal to everybody but then you cant please all of the people all of the time.Football on the whole in this country is overpriced, that we as a club are doing something different, whilst trying to put a promotion winning team on the park, should be commended IMO. |

Hi Verity,
I have already emailed these questions, and other concerns, to Fraser MacDonald as the DFCSS rep on the board.
Thanks. |

Just what I was thinking. Imagine a scenario where the Hilton is busy and a busload of out of town Dees turn up on a Saturday lunchtime for 30 free 3 course meals. Call me doubting Thomas but I can just see the look on the Hilton manager's face when he has to ask them to leave. |

Is there anywhere we can read the Ts and Cs of the concessionary offers - a free meal once a month at the Hilton sounds too good to be true! As someone pointed out 4/5 of us will be there pre-match each month if that is the case! - along with how many others...or is it Sun-Thurs thus ruling out exiled fans? |
