Read on the Dundee Mad forum that Fozzy has signed.

Quite a few people have confirmed this on that post. Anyone here able to shed any light on it if they have heard anything?

I know there is nothing on the official site and i'll take it with a pinch of salt until it is on the site.

Great signing in my opinion but only if he keep his head and doesnt get red carded all the time(Scottish Joey Barton). Gives us the dig that we lack. Welcome back Fozzy!!

Wow, this could be a really good signing for us, would be interested to know (rhetorical) why he's only signing until the end of the season ? If the manager thinks he's good enough, then I would have thought we should be at least signing him to the end of next season (seeing as how yearly contracts is the way we're going at the moment. Hopefully we're not just a 'shop window' for the guy.

Money? Maybe we can't afford a longer offer?

I have to admit to being a bit puzzled by this signing to be honest.

I am all for us signing new players but it seems a bit bizarre to pay another wage for the rest of the season (I am of course assuming we are paying Fozzy) when the title is all but mathematically out of reach.

Wouldn't this money be better put aside to help strengthen next season's squad ?

As alluded to earlier by one of the other guys on the Forum, he is also a hothead as displayed a few weeks ago when Livvy came to Dens.

I really, really hope we can peg back County and win the league title but, at 11 points behind with 10 games to go (County have 11 games left), I just don't see the point.

Feel free to berate me but just an honest opinion.

Apparently there was a few trialists playing in a closed door game yesterday against Aberdeen, anyone heard who the others are?

Always liked him. Had a good engine and swagger about him that is always good to have in midfield.

Didn't someone say at the Q&A that next years budget wasn't finalised. Would imagine Barry can't make any offers until that's happened.

It will put Fozzy in the shop window and also boost our squad for the rest of the season. A shrewd move by Barry Smith!

Really, are you Barry Smith in disguise!! Honestly if he signed a couple of pensioners you would come out in support :)

Anyway I'm a fan of Fotheringham and hopefully we can get players like him signed up for next season too.

Honestly, are we never happy??

We ask for someone with a bit of dig to be signed and Fozzy has that, no question. His signing can only be a good thing - if he shines then maybe BS will look to have him signed up for next season.

Will be interesting to see how Fozzy and O'Donnell get on together.....

I'm with you on that one 1893, seems an odd time to make a move like that, there's always second place to play for I suppose and that might get us a wee bit more dosh for league placing, but it seems a bit of after the Lord Mayors show to me.

Has to be a shop window job or perhaps a form of 'trial' maybe.

Not sure about this signing- though thankfully for Dundee its not up to me but the manager. Cant realy see the point- he has not set the fire alight at Livi. Cant recall him as outstanding his last time at Dundee. Cant see the need to bring in someone just to give them a chance to show they are worth a punt elsewhere. Still many who see a lot more games than me have spoken about strengthening the midfield and now we have Fozzy and the trialist( is he signed yet?).

Who knows, the way things are going, second spot may get an added bonus????

Going by previous scenarios Spike, that's highly unlikely, as self preservation usually kicks in and the bottom club is given a reprieve.
The only thing in our favour would be..........well, nothing !

Some people are never happy. We all agree we need experienced players to bolster our real tight squad especially mid-field since Rae left. Our manager who does not have any cash gets someone to fill this role and as next years budget has not been finalized yet we cannot give out contracts. Who cares if it is only for this season his playing gives the youngsters someone else to learn from and helps the squad.

I am puzzled by this signing. The league has gone, so we should now be focussing on next season. If we got Fozzy on an 18 month contract, then we could have started building for next season. Instead he will more than likely be offski in the summer, and we will be scrambling around looking for a replacement. I fear another Gain Rae scenario!
