Worth reading Mr McCall's end of season placing forecasts in Scotland on Sunday. He definitely does not fancy our chances!

If McCall wrote it I highly doubt it's worth reading! Take what he says with a pinch of salt, especially where it's concerning his opinion of us.

Think he's as entitled as anyone else to give his opinion for a newspaper article. You don't have to read it or agree with him. I think he has quite a few teams' positions wrong, but for anyone that knows better there are plenty bookies happy to take bets.

McCall sides with the Sunday Mail "experts" in predicting Ross County as champions. Really can't see any sustainable evidence for this. Dundee 6th; Livingston 7th?? Got to question what planet the man is on.

Clearly, with the departure of Harko and Foz we still need more attacking and scoring options from midfield, but there are funds to further bolster the squad and Barry has demonstrated that he can identify suitable signings. This is going to be a tight league; top three any four from Livy. the Dee and Hamilton - Morton and the Bairns no that far away.

Best young managers in the league have to be Gary and Barry; not a lot in it, but Barry has extra funds with the magnificent 180k donation and the additional monies form the fans and business trusts

We just need a conductor for the orchestra!

To be fair he does seem to give a reasonably fair summary of each team, but some of his predictions seem a bit strange. Dundee to finish in the bottom half?? He also seems to think that Scott Fox is the best keeper in the league - he's a good enough keeper but I know who i'd rather have in goal. Thankfuly he is.

Its always interesting to hear others views (he is/was a professional football person), but I find some of his predictions a bit strange. I won't be reading too much into it personally but I don't think he said anything particularly anti-Dee.

Scott Fox better than Rab Douglas ? hmmm

the angle seems to be here that because its him then we can ignore it because its bound to be anti-Dundee. As some have commented his assessment is based on fair points, we might disagree but there is nothing there that hints of some kind of conspiracy against us. It took an enormous mental and physical effort for the team to do what it did last season and it is faced with those demands again but with some key players from last year moving on.

The money injected by the Society, the Dark Blue Business Trust, and the family of the late Bill Gordon, was already in the budget for this season and does NOT represent extra funds or additional monies to bolster the squad.

It's important to reiterate this for anyone who missed the Society's announcement of this funding, where it was made clear it would not impact on the budget for the playing staff (http://www.dee4life.com/homepage/2011/7/22/dundee-fc-attracts-additional-funding.html).

We'd been in Simon Stainrod's shoe without it then! Forward the peoples' club!

I worry that the posts here imply that we all think ( with a few exceptions) that we are going to be very succesful this year. Too much optimism without a league game being played can only lead to dissapointment ( though I hope not!!!. My hope is that we shall be in the top 4 witha chance of going up come Easter next year.
