You beat me to it.
However in the SPL I've found a back four with a holding midfielder in front of back four then a bank of three central midfielders and two really quick strikers with counter attack switched on via the tactics can work away from home. |

I've just stumbled across a player called Tommy Coyne playing for Killie, his place of birth is given as Dundee. Am I right to assume this is the son of our own legendary TC.
This fact has also made me feel very old. |

It is indeed the son of the legend - if I remember he scored for Killie when our youth side beat them last season. |

Its true ... i won promotion on last day of first season despite conceding about 20 last minute goals in various matches .. then got punted after conceding 66 goals in 16 games.
Got the Brighton job, took them from near relegation to the Championship in 2 season then got West Brom job. Won League cup and finished top six.
Then Pc crashed and had to reinstall windows lol
Great players that cost next to nothing early on:
Alan Kelly and John Shaw (Brighton) ... both become multi-million internations from Brightons youth team
Danny Graham from West Brom - Goal machine. Tom Craddock is also superb

just started playing this- finally a successor to champ 03-04. playing dundee with my old champ 03-04 tactic which was legendary and now seems to work well here its:- 3 centre halfs 2 defensive mids 2 wingers pushing right up 1 AM 2 ST
so far played about 20 games let in 7 goals and scored about 27. jacinto, Mann and jack are my heroes. only signed deucher, kalenga (after someone recommended him on this thread) jason walker from morton and barkey from airdrie.
top of the league by 3 pts but having a bit of a goal drought and struggling through a bit like everton winning 1-0 all the time. any tips for strikers?
what i really need is some training schedules? can someone email theirs and i would be happy to share my tactic. |

If you can raise some cash by selling fringe players then Hoiland from Bryne of Norway is a steal at 160k and also Scorza from Danubio. On page one of the thread I've listed the cash I got for various players and what I paid for replacements. Also given your formation check out Cesnauskis fom Hearts bought for 28k and sold for 1.4m 10 months later, not a bad return on investment.
Incidentally I finally got Lavezzi for 1.1m after selling Cesnauskis and Hoiland to Rangers for a combined £3m and Scorza went for £1.2m to Hibs (they sell all their stars early in the game). Lavezzi is a goal machine (don't run the Italian league or he goes straight to Genoa with no chance to sign him). Also can't over emphasise how good Nik Besagno and Madgid Bougherra are. I'm 4 games away from a possible SPL title just need to avoid defeat against the Rangers and the Tims really. Although I've not played for weeks due to playing Champ Man 00/01 (Claudio, Georgi, Artero et al). |

how many seasons are you in? season 1 and i seem a long way off paying 1.1m for players and noone is anyway close to the values in your other thread. playing some silky stuff though. signed jason walker from morton for 1k cause my tactic is faultless if ive got players with heading and jumping and pace over 15- he has displaced lynch and scored 4 in 5 games.
got any good training schedules or tips cause i really dont have the time to be putting that much effort into playing!!
my old champ 03-04 team was based round my training and coaches- i only signed scots under 19 and put them through my training. i was euro champs 3 times in a row and scotland were euro and world champs before my computer got a virus and i lost everything. |

In season 2. The value of the player is not necessarily the price you have to pay, or more importantly receive, for players,
I really struggled in the first season and only secured promotion with about 2 games to go. Shed load of draws was the problem (just like this season for real). I had no cash either until the 2nd transfer window in January but close season 06-07 the cash came flooding in with huge bids for the cheap signings I made in the first season.
I didn't need to tout my players around the offers came out of the blue. If more than one club offers for your player negotiate with one club and don't respond to the other, if they accept your negotiation go back to the other club and suggest a higher amount, it's worked well for me.
I don't use any specific training regime but there is a good website for info I think the link appears in one of my earlier e-mails on this thread. |

Hey! got promoted a couple of nights ago in my first season. that lad walker i signed from morton scored 15 goals in the second half of the season and we went on an 18 game unbeaten run- won the league with 4 games to go and ended up 18 pts clear.
being doing my pre season bit now- signed poyet (ST) from auxerre on a free, best(ST) from southampton, derek adams(DM) from livvie, ryan garry(D) from arsenal, stuart taylor(M) from ross co, rocchi (DM) from auxerre, edrassa(DM) from some french team and ba (AMR) from chateroux. really annoyed at work permits being refused for kyenwne jones of southampton and faraq from sochaux despite both having over 20 caps for their countries at age of 20!!
and im not done yet- one things these guys have in common is that they all have jumping over 14 and pace at least 13 and heading at least 13.
mcmanus was best player with 15 gls and 15 assists. |

Still on FM2005 myself.
2004/05 got relegated, 2005/06 romped the 1st division (would be nice IRL), 25th March 2007 and a new board of directors has taken control of Dundee, making £4.5m available for player purchases.
New board in control and guess who FM2005 still lists as directors - yes, you've guessed it, Messrs P & J Marr. This is not funny!
On the player front, sold McManus back to Hibs for £1m, and Gary Dempsey to Plymouth for £300k (a year after buying him from Dunfermline for £6k).
Best signings, Juraj Halenar from Inter Bratislava £210k (SC, 11 goals in 1st 13 games), Billy Mehmet from Dunfermline £20k (SC 42 goals in 72 games), Sean Murdoch from Dunfermline free (GK 7.31 rating) and Ruben Sosa from Nacional (URU) £22k (AM/F, 18 goals, 21 assists in 67 games, still playing aged 41). |

| im now 8 games into prem season- added 6 loan signings from the premiership- Paul from Villa, Kennedy and Graham from Boro, Pique and Steele from Man Utd and Berra from Newcastle(Former Hearts player). so far unbeaten start to the season- 2nd behind the Gers but ive played both old firm. only conceded 3goals and have a goal difference of plus 11. the two DM i signed Rocchi and Edrassa are amazing especially as it was for a combined fee of one grand. |
