Having followed the antics of DFC for more than 35 years and having watched the club fall into administration twice in the last 10 years I had hoped that all the smoke and mirrors and difficult times were behind us. Sadly as I look through the topics on the forum I am beginning to see doubt and confusion once again rear its ugly head with expectations about sharing of information not being met, anger at price rises in season tickets and the failure to explain this to the fans, debates about length of contracts and prices of ordinary tickets for next season and other such things. Last season (2010-2011) when it seemed that there were so many against us ( a false premise I always believed) we seemed to pull together more than at any time, from Board through the supporters societies the management players and fans alike. I fear that a small breach is growing between the fans and the club and as we are so fond of saying this is a fans owned club we can’t allow this to happen. There will always be subjects which we will not agree upon and it’s good to debate them through this forum but let us not grow so divided that we begin to break off into our own small factions, doubt others "real" suppport for the club or question the efforts of others on our behalf for the good of the club. I dont expect us all to sing from the same hymnsheet, but at least be part of the team that we all wish the best for.

Over many years of commuting from Dundee to Aberdeen I've had occasion to raise 'questions' to Scotrail. I've been registered on this forum for some time too (perhaps 8 - 10 years?) and mostly read rather than post. It is probably comparable the times I feel compelled to put things in to writing to either scotrail or on this forum however I am starting to get the realisation that while it may feel cathartic to get things off your chest by writing to Scotrail and explaining the problems you encountered / issues they caused / lack of information they gave. The one thing you will never get is an answer. I can't recall getting a reply back from them that ever answered a direct question.

I am now getting a feeling similar to this from another source. Another source that wants a significant amount of money from me up front with no questions asked.

I wouldn't say there is a problem between fans and the board in general. I think some of the announcements haven't been handled well but that should just be a lessons learned. We can't be told everything though and the club has to protect its commercial interests.

Everybody should be entitled to their opinion but at the end realise that the best interests of the club are foremost even if you dont agree yourself.
