I liked what I read today in The Courier about everyone involved with the Club mending bridges and trying to be as creative as possible in getting finance into the Club. We know the real effects of administration and as supporters we must accept that we are still at the begining of a long and hard road towards where we want to be.

Scot Gardiner said "We are going to be relaunching the lottery at the end of this month, which will be a huge contributor to the youth set-up." He further added "We will throw resources at it and will be asking fans for a pound a week for a ticket."

I currently pay £4.30 into the lottery so that is £1 a week - I assume its the same lottery being discussed in the article and will just be promoted more? Or is this is brand new one?

The article is basically what the main points are on the Courier website. One importatnt point is that we are running on two budgets.
"One budget says that we will be OK as a business and our manager will have funds, at the very least, be competing to go up to the Premier League, if not this year then certainly next year."
Scot Gardiner added "But there is a parallel budget that says we will be OK as a business if this initiative works and if we get this extra investment from further afield.
But the player budget could be slashed if we are not able to attract the fans sufficiently into the schemes were are going to offer them.
There will be a Dundee FC but it will not be a Dundee FC that can necessarliy compete. That is a fact of life"
I consider this part of the article to very important. The lottery is also to be revamped at the end of month with fans being asked to pay £1 per week for a ticket. The lottery will be a huge contributor to the youth set-up. "If every fan who comes to Dens gives one more pound for the lottery we will be able to double the size of our youth side."

Can D C Thomson not be persuaded to allow the article to be downloaded on to the Dundee FC or DFCSS website as a gesture of goodwill. As they say "today's newspaper is tomorrow's chip wrapper".

I could get hold of the article no problem but it's not something we could post on here.

The article is copyright of DC Thomson so not something that can just be lifted and posted on here. We did our own interview with Scot which can be viewed in news archive section of the site.

HPR.
The article is on two pages.
When the Dundee Courier changed from broadsheet to compact (tabloid) one of the posters on the forum - dundeemanonislay said that he had signed up to receive the Courier and Evening Telegraph digitally. Is it possible for anyone who receives a digital copy of the Courier to download the article on to the forum.
HPR Posted - 10 March 2012 : 16:36:54
Can someone not just scan it and post with link? Article may require to be two part because of layout of pages

I tried increasing the size of the photograph of the article to 400% but unfortunately if made the words blurred.

As I do not have twitter thae above is double dutch to me.

It's just a URL. Click on it for a photo of the article, though I doubt if you'll be able to read it.

You don't need to sign up to Twitter to read stuff. Some people protect their posts, but 99% of it is open to any internet user. You only need a Twitter account to post anything.

For those expats with iPhone or iPad, you can download an app called Presreader, then buy a Full copy of courier or Tele at .69p.
A rip off I know, but it may help.

At last we have some quality, and some real commercial awareness, (to back up the steadfast support,) with some realism regarding the business/ football/ aspect of every day life in football clubs, which is slowly being transplanted in many grounds up and down the country, and will hopefully put an end to clubs being run ""cause i like to have a football club, in my portfoilio"

andersong Posted - 08 March 2012 : 20:37:21
Can it be shared for out of town Dees??
islaydarkblue Posted - 08 March 2012 : 19:27:34
Perhaps the article will be published in full on the DFCSS website.

Pity it was only a snippet on line, would of liked to of read that, I have liked what I have heard so far of Scot.

Interesting that the £100000 investment came from a married couple in London.
