Posted - 08 March 2012 : 00:33:00 Here's how it goes in the run-in. The Dee beat Ross County (away) & Falkirk (home). Falkirk beat Ross County (away). This puts us 1 point ahead of Falkirk and 5 adrift of Ross County. (I know the games are not played in this order.) Ross County then have to play 6 of their remaining 9 games away (and they've drawn a fair few of their away games already). We of course have to win some games ourselves, and we have 6 of our remaining 8 at Dens. What am I missing? |

Posted - 08 April 2012 : 03:30:41 Simple remit now. Beat County. Win all other games by 2 clear goals. County lose all their games. Result? We go up by 1 goal difference. Nothing to lose, and everything to prove for the players. We finish on a high in any case and can take pride in all our achievements this, and last, year. |

Half full :) been so busy looking up the league that bet not many people noticed we are as close to the bottom as we are to County, a very tight league apart from County really. |

Well I doubt even the eternal optimists would put any cash on us being promoted in 1st place this season. |

Posted - 11 March 2012 : 09:55:28 i am sure there is some additional benefit for the club if we finish second, in terms of additional payment.
First is still the dream, however from what i did see when Ross, visited Dens, they had the edge in terms,of deliberate resolute tackling, and ability to spread the cards,! |

Don't think Inverness were making these "we can't do it" kind of noises 2 seasons ago with a 15 point deficit. I admit it's unlikely, but so was that. As someone else points out, second could gain SPL admission. Win on Tuesday and we are second. Every point MUST be fought for till the last game.
Don't recall any 'we've given up' comments from any players or staff at Dens. |

Simply put, we are not yet ready to go up.
If you had said to me last year at this time that we would have been sitting third in the league, I would have bitten your hand off.
We are in a state of re-building and we have to admit that Ross County deserves to be at the top of the league.
This is not a negative attitude and I am 100% confident in the fact that the team will give us every effort in the games to come - think about when a team comes into the Scottish Cup for one thing - but the other is that, as professional athletes, pride in performance is a given.
Rebuilding? How many of the current squad are even signed up for next season!!!
We have just come out of administration. We don't even know yet what our budget will be for next season. There is therefore no way we can afford to sign up players on long term contracts at the moment. I'm not surprised that we haven't anyone signed up for next season.
Yes that was my point, who knows how many of the current squad will even be here next season. We will be rebuilding every season until we can offer longer deals. |

Yes they do, because they have accumulated more points than the other 9 teams. If they start dropping points and we continue to pick up wins, close the gap and overtake them then, by virtue of having accumulated more points, will deserve to be top of the league. |
